It started at six

“He was six the first time he sat in a kart.”

He was six when he first drove a kart, which made him one of the youngest karting drivers in Bahrain at the time. What began as a way to spend a weekend became the thing every other weekend was arranged around.

His parents backed it from the first season, and the results followed the discipline rather than the other way round: nine seasons, two national titles, and a place on the grid at the Grand Finals three times.

Nine seasons on from his first race, the boy who started at six is still measured against the same clock — and still finding time in it.
